As far as gauge it is split somewhat. It seems in the USA, HOn3 is prefered
for Sn2 (actually 26.4"). N is actually closer, but narrower, and seems to
be prefered by those "across the pond". Personally I use HOn3, but my Sn2
is more of a common carrier than a tram line. HOn3 equipment is more
suitable from points of view of wheel diameter, etc., at least for the
common carrier type railroads.
The main kitbash sources seem to be the MDC HOn3 2-8-0 (especially the
outside fram version), and the MDC HOn3 Shay. Sometimes the 2-8-0 is made
into a 2-6-0 or 2-6-2. Another thought, HOe equipment runs on N gauge
track. Something in this area may be suitable for a tram once it is
