      Event Details

      Our Speakers are Steven Collins, John Johnson, and Preston Geren.
       
       Steven Collins is scheduled to give three presentations:
      • “Synchronizing the Bible and Archaeology”
      • “Discovering the City of  Sodom ” (He is excavation director for Tal el Hammam) 
      • “Will the Real Pharaoh of the Exodus Please Stand Up!”; 
      Steve Collins will have his books for sale on these topics.
       
      John Johnson will talk on "The Shroud of Turin" in light of Roman crucifixion and Jewish burial.
       
      Preston Geren’s talk is on "Tel Gezer Water Tunnel Dig Report.”

      Drawing from 1 Peter 3:15 and 2 Peter 1:16, Dr. Collins explains our calling as believers to offer factual evidence in favor of our faith and reminds us that the Bible is a book of history, as well as a record of spiritual truth. He also shares unpublished, unprecedented archaeological discoveries including the gateway of Sodom along the southern wall of the lower city.

      Steve Collins, PhD.
      Dr. Collins has been researching and lecturing in the field
      of biblical studies and archeology for more than 30 years. His background as both a Bible scholar and field archaeologist gives him a commanding grasp of the issues involved in demonstrating the historical authenticity of the biblical record.
      He has served seventeen years as Dean of the College of Archaeology & Biblical History, Trinity Southwest University , where he also serves as Professor of Biblical Studies and Apologetics in the College of Biblical & Theological Studies.
      Dr. Collins is currently Director of the Tall el-Hammam Excavation Project in Jordan (the site of biblical Sodom ). One of Dr. Collins' passions is guiding people
      through the Bible Lands, something he's been doing regularly for nearly 20 years
       
      Preston Geren, PhD.
      Dr. Geren earned a Ph. D. in theoretical physics from the University of Washington
      and has over 40 years experience in applied electromagnetics and antenna research.
      He has authored numerous papers in network analysis, phased array antennas,
      lightning effects and platform effects on airborne GPS systems. He also has 9 patents and 6 Boeing invention disclosures that are in the patent application process.
      During May 24 to June 14 this year he participated in the excavation of the TelGezer water system, under the leadership of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary
       
      John Johnson, PhD.
      John N. Johnson, has a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. He has retired from Boeing Company after 31 years in aerospace mathematics. He has also taught academic classes for over 30 years supporting creation science (e.g. biomimicry: animal design technology), and Bible reliability via logic and Biblical archaeology. He has debated many evolutionists and Bible skeptics. He is President of the Creation Associationof Puget Sound, He is an Elder at Avondale Bible Church . He is member of Sigma Xi, and SIAM academic societies
