There is fantastic evidence for the Genesis Flood and the subsequent Ice Age. Patrick will feature a slide show and talk discussing these great formations. Come join us - it's like being there! Also featured will be a guided tour through his Geology Learning Center collection and fluorescent display.Relive a Yellowstone Geology Tour, beginning with the dino dig in the Hell Creek Formation in Eastern Montana . Then our tour winds through Yellowstone, beginning with the evidence for a post-flood ice age in the Beartooth Mountains, the caldera itself and conjecture if will it explode again, look at the type of lava throughout the Park, the Yellowstone microbes and the link to evolution, the Lewis and Clark sedimentary limestone caves, the Dinosaur Museum in Bozeman and the so-called "feathered dinosaurs" and finish up with the significance of the travertine terraces in Mammoth. Finally we will see the Yellowstone petrified "forests" at Specimen Ridge and compare it with logs in Spirit Lake at Mt. St. Helens .Patrick Nurre started as an enthusiastic rockhound youth in wild Montana near the Big Horn River . He has rockhounded in eight states for a comprehensive collection and especially likes volcanoes. Patrick met Vicki at the University of Kansas , and has spoken at home-school conventions, led geology classes and leads yearly geology field trips, like Yellowstone .
