DEATH VALLEY – YOSEMITE TOUR: EVIDENCES FOR PAST
      CATACLYSM IN THE EASTERN SIERRA

Since the time of Darwin, most geologists have
subscribed to the assumption of uniformitarianism—the
belief that all geologic processes occur over vast
stretches of time. According to this line of thought
the rates at which geologic processes are happening at
present is the rate at which they’ve always happened,
e.g., mountains have always uplifted and continents
drifted a few centimeters a year. Therefore it must
have taken hundreds of millions of years to form the
features we see in the southwestern United
      States—mountain ranges, valleys, lakes, volcanic
      peaks, and continental boundaries.

The alternate view, from a creationist perspective, is
that these features formed relatively quickly either
during or as a direct result of the Genesis Flood.
This time span would include events occurring over a
time span of as little as a year or so, up to several
      hundred years.

This presentation will explore some of the evidences
that the Sierra Nevada and Death Valley were formed
during the worldwide upheaval that accompanied Noah’s
Flood. Evidences that suggest rapid formation include
the remnants of super volcanoes, massive granitic
      intrusions, and extensive sedimentation.

Other indicators of worldwide destruction just several
thousand years ago are the world’s most ancient living
things: the bristlecone pine, which date from the
      period immediately following the Flood.

The presentation will also briefly address the
formation of Yosemite Valley by glacial action during
the Ice Age that followed the Flood.
