The Apologetics Forum of Snohomish County (AFSC)
will hold its next meeting on Friday, August 22nd at 7:00 PM
at the Atonement Free Lutheran Church,
6905 172nd St. NE, Arlington, WA.

Live Streaming is available for those unable to attend in person.

Dr. Don Johnson, Creation/Science author and  speaker, will speak on
"Life'sInformation Systems." A description of the lecture is provided
below and on the AFSC website at http://apologeticsforum.org.

[Flyer, BulletinInsert and JPG files are attached to this email.]

Life's Information Systems is based on the “Programming of Life” book which has been a best-seller in molecular biology, and on which a PoL video is based. This updated presentation begins with a quick review of the Biblical basis for studying science and God's awesome fine-tuned creation.  After a review of terms related to life’s information, the reality of every cell’s computers and computer programs will be examined, including the coding systems and algorithmic requirements that have no naturalistic explanation.  Several difficulties of naturalistic scenarios will be highlighted, including the probabilities of randomly forming life’s components, the reality of the fitness decline in each generation, and the lack of any possible undirected mechanism to produce life’s hardware and software.  Darwinism asserts that random changes (via DNA mutations) in real biological computer programs sometimes produce better programs, a concept that has no basis in computer science.

Scientificevidence will be examined to compare creation and evolution scenarios as explanations.  The fall of Darwinism and the Extended Synthesis as a likely replacement will be discussed.  Intelligent design will be contrasted with creationism.  Evolution and atheism will be shown to be religious, as verified by court decisions, with ramifications in the education system and all other aspects of society.  The importance of being informed on scientific truth, especially life’s information, is critical when confronting what is promoted as “science,” but is actually speculation that has no scientific basis.

Don Johnson earned Ph.D's in both Computer & Information Sciences and in Chemistry. He was a senior research scientist and consultant for over 14 years, and taught 20 years in universities in the US and Europe. Since "retiring" as an APU (Christian university) professor, he has done consulting, speaking, and writing (4 books, including best-selling “Programming of Life,” and several peer-reviewed papers). He has made Christian and secular presentations across the US and on most continents.  His www.4iam.org Christian Website has links to the “Programming of Life” PoL video (over 238,000 on-line views), several video presentations and printable flyers, as well as links to his two secular science websites.  For over 20 years he believed, taught, and defended the evolutionary scenarios, until science convinced him of the bankruptcy of those beliefs.

We are providing exhibits, books and DVD's at the meeting. The lecture
