Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2005 10:56:36 -0300There is a major fallout of birds happening on Brier Island this morning.Unfortunately I have to work today (at least outside) but you can't helpnoticing by sight and sound flocks of warblers and other passerineseverywhere by the hundreds. I have seen 6 species of warblers including afew Yellow-breasted Chats so far, also large numbers of kinglets, juncos and chickadees. The30 knot ene wind makes them fidgety. There are also lots of kestrels, merlinsand sharpies around, too. I counted 45 kestrels sitting on wires on just ashort drive. I have seen this before and was wondering when I would see itagain. Obviously the weather has something to do with it and it ismigration.Carl HaycockBrier Island
