|Notes:|| ||The Warhawk Air Museum is pleased to announce that in conjunction with Navy Week, the U.S. Navy will be hosting Saturday, August 28, a day to honor Naval Aviation. The U.S. Navy is planning to have various activities, Navy personnel, and speakers throughout the day. The U.S. Navy Parachute Team, the Leap Frogs, is scheduled to perform parachute demonstrations at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and will be available after the jumps to meet with the public. Leap Frog performances include canopy formations that team members create with their blue and gold parachutes. Some demonstrations also include colorful smoke streaming from the parachutists, brilliant pyrotechnics, and patriotic presentation of the American flag. |
The new 18,000 sq. ft. wing of the Warhawk Air Museum will be open and will have on display several visiting historical Navy aircraft for museum visitors to enjoy including:
WWII N3N Navy Trainer
WWII SNJ Marine Advanced trainer
WWII TBM Avenger
Vietnam-era Douglas A-1 SkyRaider.
The U.S. Submarine Veterans INC will have their replica U.S.S. Boise Submarine on exhibit as well has several cases of memorabilia, and members of the organization will be available to talk to visitors.
The museum will also provide a round table of U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard veterans who will be available to talk to visitors about their experiences.

The Navy Parachute Team was created in the late 1960s, when Navy SEALs performed at air shows on weekends. The Department of Defense officially commissioned the Team as the Leap Frogs in 1974 with the mission of demonstrating Navy excellence throughout the United States. The Leap Frogs are based in San Diego and perform at more than 100 shows a year.
