..........THE HUNDRED THOUSAND KINGDOMS, the first book in Nora
Jemisin's The Inheritance Trilogy, has been nominated for ten awards
including the Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy and Locus awards. It is a
tale of love and betrayal, family and revenge, power and slavery on a
world where captive gods are used as weapons of mass destruction. It
is the story of a young woman, Yeine Darr, summoned from her home in
an unimportant backwater kingdom, who learns that she is a candidate
      to succeed the dying emperor.

..........THE BROKEN KINGDOMS features a new cast of characters who
must deal with the changes in the world as a result of the events in
the first book. The series concludes in THE KINGDOMS OF THE GODS
which will be published later this year.

..........The books are a blend of elements from classic fantasy
writers like Zelazny and van Vogt and contemporary authors of urban
      fantasy.

..........Ms Jemisins short fiction has appeared in ABYSS & APEX,
BAEN'S UNIVERSE, CLARKESWORLD, POSTSCRIPTS, STRANGE HORIZONS and other
venues and has been nominated for the Hugo, Nebula and Locus awards.
