We are looking for a bilingual research assistant to work with us in the Latina Mothers Project. RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION
The Department of Psychology at Kent State University is seeking a full-time Research Assistant for a federally funded research study. The study examines parenting behaviors of young Latina mothers and their toddlers in the Cleveland area. The position is for a limited 12-month period.
Responsibilities: The Research Assistant will be responsible for recruitment, follow-up, and retention of participants, data collection through interviews, child assessments, and video-taping of mother-child interactions conducted at the participants’ homes, and data coding and management. The assistant will also attend weekly staff meetings at Kent State University and complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, early intervention or related field. Fluent in Spanish and English and proven ability to communicate well with young mothers, their young children, and health/human services professionals in the Latino community.
Requirements: Flexible schedule with availability of some evenings and weekends. Must have and maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License, personal vehicle, appropriate driving record and appropriate insurance coverage at all times. Access to a personal computer and the Internet is necessary. Salary is commensurate to qualifications and experience (benefits included).
