Nonduality Highlights: Issue #3653, Saturday, September 12, 2009

Heaven has a vast, mindless mind.
      Human has a mind.
The earth embraces everything with broad virtue.
Why does man's mind learn only poisonous thoughts?
Even when the roaring volcano rolls across the earth,
do the sun and moon get angry?

      Wise men!
Learn the virtue of taking off.
If, all day long, you follow the rights and wrongs
of the mundane world, you cultivate a heart attack.
He goes on his way, so let him go.
You have your job, so watch only your way.

Sometimes, in the quiet of the night,
in your spare time, chant silently.
Sometimes, do meditation, enter into a deep samadhi.
All of existence, the sun, the moon, and the stars,
      all are my guiding light.
All of them are joyful, all of them are precious.
So, always there is a contented laughter.

      The Power of Presence

See if you can give more attention to an action, rather than the result that you want to achieve through it.

Give you fullest attention to whatever the moment presents.

This implies that you also completely accept what is, because you cannot give your full attention to something and at the same time resist it.

      - Eckhart Tolle, posted to The_Now2

Everything in your life is there as a vehicle for your transformation. Use it!

      Ram Dass, posted to The_Now2

When there is presence, all that is illusory falls away, and what is left is real, vital, and passionately alive. This is life full on - not my life, not anyone's life, but simply life.

Jafar asked Rabia when a devotee might become content with God. She replied, "When his joy in affliction equals his joy in blessing."

I don't know what to say...
I don't know what to say
I never know what to say
yet there is great power in not knowing
      knowing I can never know
      the mystery constantly deepens
overwhelming my sense of what is
      the mystery speaks without words
      taking the breath away
      leaving no air for words
in silence there is room for pain and bliss
      in unlimited measure
