      EPA ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION GRANTS

EPA is soliciting grant proposals from education institutions,
environmental and educational public agencies, and not-for-
profit organizations to support environmental education
projects. Please note that these grants require non-federal
matching funds for at least 25% of the total cost of the project.
November 15 is the application deadline.

Eligibility covers projects which design, demonstrate, or
disseminate environmental education practices, methods, or
techniques, including assessing environmental and ecological
conditions or specific environmental issues or problems. For
more information, access the EPA Federal Register site at
http://www.epa.gov/fedrgstr/ Click on August 28 and scroll
down to EPA and NOTICES. For background, access the
Office of Environmental Education website, however, this
year's solicitation will not be web-posted until September.

        Smitty,

You forwarded to all RC&Ds a request for green ponderosa pine. I have a source if it is still needed. Do you have a telephone number or email for Susan L LeVan of the FPL or for Steve Yaddof, who apparently
        sent you the request?

The Knox County Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) Task Force has

asked us to look into grant opportunities that could assist in the cost

of hiring a consultant to look at market conditions within Knox County

and how a TDR program could be structured.  Do you know of any such

grants that could be utilized for this purpose.
