Every year, National RC&D Week commemorates the anniversary of the founding of the RC&D program and recognizes local RC&D Councils and their projects. It also offers RC&D Councils an occasion to celebrate and share their successes in helping their communities. This year, RC&D Week will be held from September 25 to October 1. Now is the time to finalize your Council’s plans. Will you hold an open house at your Council office? Organize a membership or fund drive? Send out a press release to area media? Or ask your elected representatives to issue a proclamation recognizing RC&D Week in honor of your program?

This year’s celebration will be particularly special because it will kick off a year that will culminate in the 50th anniversary of the program. The National Association of RC&D Councils is planning to hold separate events on each day of RC&D Week, with each day dedicated to a different theme or activity. We strongly encourage RC&D Councils to organize events during RC&D Week and to take advantage of the Jubilee celebration of the program in your promotions.  And of course we very much want to hear what you’re planning and doing around RC&D Week, so please let us at the NARC&DC know!

      Many thanks,

National Association of Resource Conservation & Development Councils
