      Small Town Generator
      Jan,
Talk with your local phone company and electric service providers.  They may have one that is ready to retire from their service, but still has many hours of service left.  A possible donation or low price could be worked out as a community service.

Any ideas where a small town (pop. 1,078) might get a generator to serve their community in time of a major power outage?  Homeland Security said 'no' to their request.
