      Are you looking for something to do on Sunday morning? If so, come join us for our 5K road race or paddle race, or cheer on the participants
      - and find out what is going on in the Mystic River watershed.  Hope to see you all then!
      9th Annual Mystic Herring Run
      this SUNDAY, May 1st, 9am - noon
      The 9th Annual Mystic Herring Run will take place on Sunday May 1st, at 9 am at the Blessing of the Bay Boathouse (32 Shore Drive), in Somerville. This year's event will include a 5k Road Race, paddle race, awards ceremony, and informational tables. Registration is now open for both the 5K Road Race and the paddle race on www.active.com
      About the 5K: Registration starts at 8am. Race at 9am. Run with the fish! This flat and fast certified course follows the Mystic River bike path, dashing past thousands of herring returning from the ocean back to the Mystic River. Entry includes t-shirt and 2005 membership to Mystic River Watershed Association. Fabulous prizes donated by local businesses for top three overall female and male athletes; first place age groups and team finishes.  Pre-registration information at http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1203994

      - Dedication of the Mystic interpretive signs- right at the end of the  race
      - Runners and Paddlers awards and prizes donated by local businesses
      - Children's activities
      - Information from a few of the local groups
