The Executive Office of Transportation and Construction administers
a host of highly effective and diverse grant programs.

Several of the Federal Transit Administration grants were developed
to enhance the quality of transportation and transit related services
for eligible recipients. Such services include, but are not limited
to; enhancing transit services to the elderly, disabled and families
transitioning from public assistance; improving access for people in
non-urbanized areas; and fostering development of inner-city bus
      transportation services.

The Executive Office of Transportation and Construction also
administers other grants designed to assist municipalities with
infrastructure improvements that in turn foster an environment
conducive to economic growth. The PWED and STRAP grants enable cities
and towns to undertake general infrastructure projects, such as the
improvements of roads, bridges and the revitalization of commercial
and industrial facilities. The intermodal grants, somewhat more
limited in scope, restrict municipalities to improving infrastructure
only as it relates to water, freight and intermodal regional transit
      services.
