      ‘Brothers’ of the Muslim Brotherhood

      Tarek Fatah

A fascist ideology whose seed was planted in the Nile Delta by radical Muslims 80 years ago has finally sprouted in Egypt, but not before spreading its roots across much of the Islamic world and in North America.

Who are the “Brothers” of the Muslim Brotherhood? What do they want, and why should we in Canada and the U.S. be concerned?

Founded in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood’s motto reads,

“Allah is our objective; the Qur’an is our constitution, The Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

Operationally, the Brothers have adopted the Leninist tactics of banned communist parties in the developing world.

However, if we are to believe the man President Barack Obama describes as his “principle intelligence advisor”, U.S. Department of National Intelligence head James Clapper, there is little to worry about.

At a congressional hearing in February, 2011, he told Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC), the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt was a “largely secular” group with “no overarching agenda in pursuit of violence.” Congresswoman Myrick appeared flabbergasted. She had just shown the DNI chief a document presented by the FBI at a 2008 Dallas terror-funding trial that had recorded minutes of a 1991 Brotherhood secret meeting held in the U.S.

If this is the advice Obama is getting from his “principle intelligence advisor,” it is no wonder, leading up to the Egyptian presidential elections, his administration played host to the Muslim Brotherhood in Washington and were earlier accused of holding secret meetings in Cairo with its senior leadership.

If the Brotherhood’s agenda just concerned the Egyptian people, we could ignore them.

However, like the Ayatollahs in Iran in 1979, wherever Islamists seize power, their ultimate objective is the destruction of the West, even when they are feeding off it.

The Muslim Brotherhood document produced by the FBI as evidence in the Dallas terror trial lists the group’s objective in North America as a “Civilization-Jihadist Process.” It said:

The Ikhwan (Brotherhood) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers (Muslims) so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

To this end, the Brothers call on Muslims “to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes.”

Some U.S. lawmakers suspect the Brotherhood may have infiltrated America’s intelligence networks, as well as the military. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and five other House members have sent letters to the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, seeking answers about the U.S. government’s involvement with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Bachmann raises concerns about possible direct influences within the intelligence community of Muslim Brotherhood operatives.

Unfortunately, concerns about the Brothers’ agenda in North America are routinely dismissed as racism by the liberal-left media and intelligentsia.

One day the left will regret their policy of appeasement and recognize that their addiction to anti-Americanism has left them at the mercy of Islamo-fascism. They should ask their leftist colleagues in Iran about what that will mean — at least those who survived the bloodbath.
