The 31st July, 24 Years Back, Started As Usual But Seldom Ended By It's Norms. It Ended With The Death Of A God Gifted And A Golden Voice, Known As Mohammad Rafi.

Mohammad Rafi, A Legendary Voice Cast A Spell For About 45 Years And Ruled Over Both The Tinsel Town And The Hearts Of Listeners.

Mohammad Rafi Was Born On 4th December 1924 In A Small Village Of Amritser Called Kot Sultan Singh. He Started His Singing At The Age Of 14. He Went To Lahore To Get His Thirst For Music Be Quenched. He Got His Early Education Of Music From Ustad Khan Abdul Waheed Khan, Jeevan Lal Mattu And Gulam Ali Khan. Feroz Nizami (Music Director) Introduced Him To Radio Lahore Which Eventually Led Him To A Break In A Punjabi Film "Gul Baloch"(1944). This Film Has Musical Score By Shayam Sunder.

The Same Year Mohammad Rafi Went To Mumbay, The Then Bombay, And Fortunately He Got A Great Opportunity To Sing Under The Orchestra Of Mousiqaar-E-Azam (The Greatest Music Maestro), Noushad Ali. That Film Made Him Noticed By Other Musicians And Filmmakers But The Movie Which Made Him A Star Over Night Was Mehboob`S "Anmol Ghari" (1946) Which Had "Tere Khilona Toota" Sung By Mohammad Rafi. The Songs Of The Movie Raged The Nation.

The Next Year Dilip Starrer Movie "Jugnu" Hit The Screen And It's Mega Success Rendered Number One Singer And Number One Hero Status To Mohammad Rafi And Dilip Kumar Respectively.

After "Jugnu ", Mohammad Rafi Became A Vital Voice For Dilip Kumar.

It Is Necessary To Take A Pause Here To Point Out That Mohammad Rafi Gave His First And Last Ever Screen Appearance As An Actor On The Screen In "Jugnu". That Was A Brief Appearance (A.K.A Guest Appearance). He Was Presented As A Student Who Performs At A College Function On His Own Song.

Malika-E-Tarannum Noorjehan Accompanied Him For Duet  "Yahaan Badla Wafa Ka Bewafai Ke Siwa Kya Hai" In "Jugnu".

At The Time When This Wonderful Duo Could Create A Great Treasure Of Songs Together, Noorjehan Moved To Pakistan And The Listeners Were Deprived From Rare Gems Never Sung.
