      SAN DIEGO DIVISION LAYOUT TOUR
      Saturday March 13th
      Noon to 3:00 PM
      3211 Celinda Drive
      Carlsbad

South Fork Railroad ~ Hosts – Dan & Lise Conway

It is 1955. The South Fork RR still uses steam locomotives, but a second-hand 44-ton diesel works the mines at Gold Hill. The South Fork interchanges with the Southern Pacific, and with the Virginia & Truckee RR in Minden, NV. Other branches serve gold mines and agricultural industries. A logging line uses a Shay to haul logs to a sawmill at Sierra City. The South Fork has an unusual track plan featuring long runs. Come watch some classic short line railroading: small steam locomotives hauling short trains up steep grades to the towns and mines of the region it serves. HO Scale.

Directions: FROM THE I-5: Exit on Carlsbad Village Drive and go East. Keep going past several traffic lights. When you pass Donna Drive, Celinda Drive is the next street after Donna Drive. Turn right into Celinda Drive. The house is the second on the right.
FROM THE I-15: Take the 78 freeway West to Carlsbad. Exit at El Camino Real. Turn left (South) onto El Camino Real. Pass several shopping centers, continue to Carlsbad Village Drive. Turn right (West) onto Carlsbad Village Drive. Celinda Drive is the first street to the left. The house is the second on the right.

DO NOT PARK ON AFTON WAY, which is next to the house.
