If you can't donate food cash or time is nice. The greater Chicago Food depository can buy $3.00 worth of food for every $1.00 donated

Subject: [MidwestCemeteries] My challange to you
Date: Wednesday, November 9, 2011, 3:16 PMI know this doesn't pertain to any cemetery, but I challenge you to do something. As our local food banks are totally stressed for donations and winter is soon upon us, I ask all of you to donate at least one item to your local food bank. My challenge to you is to spread the word to your friends and neighbors. If you are a member of any community group, ask your fellow members to bring at least one item to your next meeting. Our local food banks are nearly empty with more and more people in need. Start a food drive at your own religious affiliation. Ask your library to do an amnesty program in lieu of money for overdue books or just set up a donation point or box. Be creative in finding ways to fill the food banks. Your quilting group, your historical meeting, and any groups you are part of can participate. Also, I am asking that you contact your local Meals on Wheels office and ask how many they serve and I ask you to buy an extra box of Christmas cards, sign them and take them to the office so that the people they serve will get at least one card and know someone out there does care about them. That card could be the only one they get. Please share this with all your friends and we can fill the food banks and brighten someone's day that could really use it. Thanks.
