Hi Danny, are you referring to the certificate with your STR s on it that FTDNA gives you once your results are in? If you upload to ysearch from your matches

      Hi Danny,
are you referring to the certificate with your STR's on it that FTDNA gives you once your results are in?

If you upload to ysearch from your matches page your results will automatically be updated.

Perhaps you can include a screen shot of your results so that we can better understand.

This line appears to be the line of Captain Bartolome González founder line of Monterrey (born 1598 in Moran, Castile, Spain, and died 02 Feb 1691/92 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico). The genetic signature of this line is here in the Sorenson database (login first then click on the preceeding link). Note: Bartolome González's third wife was Ana Quintanilla. They had three sons, Joseph González Quintanilla, Bartolome González Quintanilla and Nicolas Quintanilla. It was common in colonial times for a son to take his Mother's paternal line surname. Here is the line on Y-search - Gary Felix

These are differences in your Gonzalez line YDNA. Generally speaking the more differences there are the more distant the relationship.

What is the FTDNATiP Calculator? How do I use it? faq id: 385
FTDNATiP is a program that calculates Time to the Most Recent Common Ancestor (TMRCA). It uses STR marker mutation rates for more accurate calculations.
You can click on the Tip icon by your matches to determine this relationship.

                        Hi Danny,
are you referring to the certificate with your STR's on it that FTDNA gives you once your results are in?

If you upload to ysearch from your matches page your results will automatically be updated.

Perhaps you can include a screen shot of your results so that we can better understand.

Hi Danny, if you created your Ysearch account yourself then each time an upgrade is done you would have to fill in the extra markers on your Ysearch account.

This is done automatically if an upload is done from your matches pages.

Barring this I know FTDNA has had problems with their Ysearch software. I have run across problems even now when I do an upload and then search for close matches. Sometimes a value for DYS19b shows up for some reason.

                            Saludos,

                              Hi Danny,
if you created your Ysearch account yourself then each time an upgrade is done you would have to fill in the extra markers on your Ysearch account.
This is done automatically if an upload is done from your matches pages.

Barring this I know FTDNA has had problems with their Ysearch software. I have run across problems even now when I do an upload and then search for close matches. Sometimes a value for DYS19b shows up for some reason.

                              Saludos,
                              Gary

                                Hello Joel,
your results show up as estimates. If you use the Tip utility then you get a percentage chance of a common ancestor over time.

Filtering in a database means changing your search parameters to get results that are more meaningful.

                                DYS19b is a rare Y dna marker.

You can post your Ydna results to Ysearch.org to compare them with anyone else. FTDNA does this as well with your matches utility.

If you find close matches use the Tip utility on your matches page to find an estimate of how closely you are related to someone.

                                Best,
                                Gary

                                  Hi Gary,

All I had to do was hit update and everything was there, I didn't know that on Ysearch you had to hit update after an upgrade, I thought it was done automatically.
Have you had a chance to look at my previous email on my native american % question?
                                  Thanks,
                                  Danny

                                  Hi Danny,
if you created your Ysearch account yourself then each time an upgrade is done you would have to fill in the extra markers on your Ysearch account.
This is done automatically if an upload is done from your matches pages.

Barring this I know FTDNA has had problems with their Ysearch software. I have run across problems even now when I do an upload and then search for close matches. Sometimes a value for DYS19b shows up for some reason.

                                  Saludos,
                                  Gary
