      IDF helicopters strike in Gaza, hit Palestinian weapons 'factory'

      Israeli attack helicopters launched a strike Monday afternoon at a Palestinian police headquarters
      in the Gaza Strip, which security sources said was being used to produce mortars.

      Two Palestinians were injured in the attack, Israel Radio reported.

      The compound is near the home and offices of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat, though he
      was out of the region at the time of the afternoon attack.

      "The new Israeli crime will never harm the strong will of the Palestinian people to achieve freedom
      and will not stop the resistance to occupation," Ahmed Abdel-Rahman, an Arafat aide, said about the
      aerial attack.

      Earlier Monday morning a seven-year-old girl was lightly injured by shrapnel from a mortar that fell
      on the settlement of Kfar Darom in the Gaza Strip, Israel Radio reported.

      Shrapnel from the shell penetrated two houses in the settlement; the girl was treated at the scene
      and was not hospitalized.

      Palestinians also fired four mortar shells at the Gaza Strip settlement of Netzer Hazani, no
      injuries were reported.

      An IDF force from the engineering corps entered into Palestinian controlled territory near the
      Karni-Netzarim road in the Gaza Strip and destroyed a number of buildings, before leaving the area.
