The Mendocino County bird list is fast approaching number 400. The Red-eyed Vireo was # 395. The recent split of Canada Goose will add another bird (Cackling Goose). Also it is my understanding there are three more possible additions under review by the California Bird Records Committee; Arctic Loon, Thick-billed Murre, and Painted Bunting.
It will not be long before Mendocino County joins the 400 club (the last California coastal county to reach that milestone).
