I was treated to a wonderful view of a female Townsend's warbler
yesterday. What a beautiful bird! Very cooperative. It fed so long
in the same part of a tree in front of me that I couldn't hold my
arms up any longer (are there exercises for birders' shoulders?).
Are these birds with us all summer?
Also this morning a male western tanager in our neighbor's
eucalyptus tree. And what I believe was an evening grosbeak at our
