- Hello Mendobirders,
This post is to call attention to an error in the recently mailed Falcon
Flyer, newsletter of the Peregrine Audubon Chapter. Newsletter recipients
will want to take note and non-recipients may want to take note also in case
you would like to join in on the field trips in question:
Peregrine Audubon, as the newsletter states, has 2 field trips planned for
November of this year. That is correct and all the information about the
trips is correct. The error is that the newsletter has them scheduled for
the same day, Nov. 15th. The trip descriptions with the correct dates are
copied below. Thanks for your attention to this and sorry for any confusion.
> SATURDAY NOVEMBER 15 - FIELD TRIP TO CLEAR LAKE STATE PARK - We will leave
> from the Ukiah Long's parking lot at 7:30 am. This is a really lovely park and
> an ideal time to visit. The camping season is over and the leaves are turning
> and falling. Many species including American White Pelicans and at times
> interesting marsh birds (Bittern, Rail, Sora) have been found at the mouth of
> Kelsey Creek.
> SATURDAY NOVEMBER 22 - FIELD TRIP TO COVELO - Meet at 7:30 am at the Ukiah
> Long's parking lot or at 8 am in Willits at the High School. Chuck Vaughn will
> lead this trip into one of California's most beautiful valleys. Birds of note
> here have included Ferruginous Hawks, Lewis's Woodpeckers, Peregrine and
> Prairie Falcons (and last year a very cooperative Merlin).
