Sun, 8 Sep 2013 -- It was a foggy, yet birdy, morning at Virgin Creek.  A RED-NECKED PHALAROPE rested in the creek.   A basic plumaged RED KNOT, 4 LONG-BILLED CURLEWS, and 4 MARBLED GODWITS were on the beach with good numbers of the regular shorebirds.

At the west end of the forested trail near wax myrtles and pines, was an early GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW and at least two WESTERN TANAGERS.

The official entrance to this trail out to Virgin Creek beach is just north of the relocated Montessori school on Hwy 1.
