Yellow-headed Blackbird at MCBG
- Wednesday 17 April 2013 - An adult female Yellow-Headed Blackbird was
perched in the top of a cypress tree just west of the parking lot at the
Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens at 8:00 AM while assembling for the
MCAS birdwalk. The bird then flew north and was lost in pine trees.
While it was perched, I was able to clearly see (through binoculars) the
yellow throat and upper chest.
It was another great morning of birding, as six of us saw or heard a
total of 65 species.
