It was a fantastic day to watch the birds migrating along the coast. All day
long hundreds of loons were flying north, mostly Pacific but higher numbers
of Commons than we usually see and a good number of Red-throateds as well.
Scattered among the loons were flocks of Black Brant and Surf Scoters with a
few Red-necked Phalaropes passing by. In the evening Caspian Terns joined
the crowd with about one hundred going by as the day was coming to an end.
