Subject: [Mendobirds] Purple Martins - Ten Mile River Bridge

Fri, 12 April 2013 -- Four PURPLE MARTINS were flying with a small flock of Cliff
Swallows above the south half of Ten Mile River bridge this morning. It was not
windy. An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER sang from his usual territory on the
NW side of the bridge. The few shorebirds included Western Sandpiper, Greater
Yellowlegs, Killdeer and dowitchers. Jim saw 3 Whimbrels on Seaside Beach.

Wed, 30 March 2016 -- This morning, there were 6 male Purple Martins investigating the Ten Mile River bridge on Hwy 1.  There was also a single Northern Rough-winged Swallow near the bridge.

About a half mile down the Ten Mile logging road, along the south side of the river, a walk produced a Pacific-slope Flycatcher, 2 Wilson's Warblers, 5 Orange-crowned Warblers, and one of the returning Ospreys.
