Leucistic Wild Turkey
- Today, Mike Curry and I ventured out in the rain to check out the waterfowl and raptors along the Reynolds Hwy. There were lots of both, but the most interesting bird was a leucistic Wild Turkey in a flock of about 30 birds. Its head and body were a tawny color and the wings and tail were all white. It was quite striking. We saw it spread its wings and tail once. Unfortunately, neither of us had a camera. There was also a small flock of Lark Sparrows.
Reynolds Hwy turns off Hwy 101 to the east at the north end of Little Lake Valley just after you cross Outlet Creek. This is north of Willits.
