Fri Aug 26, 2011-- Yesterday (August 25, 2011) at Inglenook Creek where it goes under the haul road, I observed parts of a warbler in a bush. It had a head very similar to an Orange-crown Warbler only much brighter. When it went belly-up into the bush I saw white undertail coverts and a yellow belly. After consulting field guides and people when I got home I could only conclude that it was a TENNESSEE WARBLER. This is the reason for the late post. This would be the earliest fall TEWA for Mendocino County.
