Sea Life Revealed: Mendocino�s Closest Marine Sanctuary
Just 6 miles off the coast of the Marin/Sonoma coast, another world begins.
The Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary provides a lush feeding ground
for fish, invertebrates, seabirds, and marine mammals.
On Thursday, September 16, Jennifer Stock will tell us why this area, so
close to home, attracts mammals and seabirds from thousands of miles away.
Stock says that she loves to show people the mysteries of the underwater
world and reveal what we cannot easily see. She will give an overview of the
Cordell Bank, its ecology and species such as albatrosses, shearwaters,
humpback and blue whales. She has worked for over fifteen years in
environmental education as an interpretive park ranger.
Peregrine Audubon presentations are free to the public, though donations are
