Wed, 27 Mar 2002 -- This morning Dorothy Tobkin found a probable ROYAL TERN
on the beach at Virgin Creek. It was sitting among gulls and she got a good
look. The bill was large and orange, forehead entirely white with black on
the far back, eye entirely in the white. If she has it right, it would be
in first winter plumage. She has ruled out Elegant Tern, but doesn't know
if Caspians can ever look like that, and she would like to talk to people
who might know. Call 964-6216 evenings. It flew off to the W and then
      headed SW.
Yesterday she also had a pair of REDHEADS on Lake Cleone.
