Mendocino and Lake
- In Mendocino County near noon on the Old Toll Road there were 2 Lawrence's Goldfinch's . A singing (if you can call what they do a song) Sage Sparrow was nearby. Down the road further near the Sheldon Creek Campground there was a calling Pileated Woodpecker.
In Lake County there was a Ross's Goose, 14 Greater-white Fronted Geese, and a Mute Swan along with a flock of Canada Geese and several species of ducks. All of these birds were in the partially flooded pasture lands ("Tule Lake") seen from highway 20 a few miles west of Upper Lake near the Witter Springs Road turnoff. Jerry
