795Light Pollution of Night Sky (affects birds, bats, & other wildlife)
- Jan 4, 2004I am forwarding this from Susan Knopf:
The City of Ukiah City Council will be meeting on Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at 6:30 p.m. Light pollution is rather late on the agenda under New Business. Phil Baldwin hopes for a motion to direct the building department to research and rewrite the residential lighting codes.
THIS IS A CHANCE TO INFLUENCE THE CITY ABOUT REDUCING LIGHT POLLUTION.
Your presence and/or your comments are very influential to the City Council Members. If you are able to attend, please do. If you are willing to speak before the council, please do. If you are unable to attend, or if you choose not to speak in public, please email Mayor Eric Larson at ericnotfred@.... All letters and emails about agenda items must be read out loud during the meeting.
Please spread the news. Birders, people with visual problems, and those interested in wildlife, in astronomy, or in enjoying a good night's sleep, are all likely to be interested.
Best wishes for a darker night sky,
