      Title: Charge Master Coordinator

          Location: Woodbridge VA
          More Details:
              Coordinates, monitors and approves all changes made to the
              hospital's charge description master (CDM) file. Maintains CDM in
              compliance with third party payor requirements. Recommends and
              coordinates the use of consultants for specialized activities
              related to CDM. Monitors reimbursement problem areas and works with
              staff to resolve problems and optimize reimbursement. Works with
              the Medical Records Department coding staff to ensure that codes on
              the CDM are accurate and current. Bachelors degree preferred. Must
              have some clinical background. Must have extensive hospital billing
              experience. Knowledge of medical record coding guidelines
              preferred. Must be familiar with hospital charging systems and have
              knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, Revenue Codes and the revenue cycle.
              Computer skills required. Must be knowledgeable concerning Federal
              regulations relating to coding and billing of hospital accounts
              receivable. Must also understand issues and their importance. (ak)

              Provides financial counseling to patients/families to ensure
              verified source of reimbursement is in place prior to the delivery
              of services by UPHS providers. Must be able to accurately and
              consistently interpret and readily explain various healthcare
              insurance plans coverage, benefits and patient payment
              responsibilities. Performance has direct impact on UPHS meeting
              Revenue Cycle Improvement and bad debt write-off targets. JOB
              REQUIREMENTS:: High school diploma or equivalent, associates degree
              in healthcare preferred. Three to five years healthcare business
              office experience. Demonstrated experience of direct involvement in
              healthcare insurance (commercial and/or government products)
              coverage and benefit determination and billing/collections activity
              required. Demonstrated customer service experience required.
              Workmen's Compensation and/or auto no fault experience preferred.
              SMS and/or IDX experience preferred. Foreign language proficiency a
