Subject: [MedicalBillers] ADHD OFFICE VISITS
I work in a pediatricians office and we are stumped. How do we code for a
Medication recheck. We were coding it as a 99214 with icd-9 code v58.69. But
the doctors typically only spend 15 minutes with the patients. Now, code
99214 says the dr. typically spends 25 min. Now can i still use this code,
even if the dr. only spends 15 minutes or do they have to be with the
patient for 25 minutes? The code 99213 in our office is considered a sick
visit, with a lower fee. Help! Thank you!
