To the extent that folks think there was something good that has come out of the efforts called "The Restoration Movement", it might be supposed that folks think, at a minimum, that God "providentially" was involved.
Some more "liberal" folks might accept the propostion that God's spirit was directly and literally and personally guiding the likes of Alexander Campbell, Barton W. Stone & others...even up through some of today's preachers; I don't think so.
"Authorized"? We are all authorized to do the right thing without having to have a direct, literal and personal message from God to do so.
