      I don't know quite what to make of your answer. Sounds like some think yes, and some think a little bit, but none think it is the same as when  God stepped in with Moses or Jesus' Apostles.

      Not like the Mormons claim that God "guided or inspired" Joseph Smith.

      To the extent that folks think there was something good that has come out of the efforts called "The Restoration Movement", it might be supposed that folks think, at a minimum, that God "providentially" was involved.

      Some more "liberal" folks might accept the propostion that God's spirit was directly and literally and personally guiding the likes of Alexander Campbell, Barton W. Stone & others...even up through some of today's preachers; I don't think so.

      "Authorized"? We are all authorized to do the right thing without having to have a direct, literal and personal message from God to do so.
