      This is about persuasion.

Very few people in history have actually seen God. Most of those are recorded in the Bible, which is long ago. People infere the existence of God through many venues, but not by direct observation. Ironically, the same is true with evolution and the use of science to discredit the presence of God.

Hmmm, let's see. This rock only registers 70 clicks with a geiger counter, must be 3 billion years old. Therefore the Bible is false and God doesn't exist.

Once convinced God isn't real, the door opens to unrestrained selfishness. Selfishness and disbelief are closely connected.

The results of the poll following the discussions:

      Before the Debate:

      > Science refutes God = 37%

      > Science does NOT refute God = 34%

      > Undecided = 28%

      After the Debate:

      > Science refutes God = 50%

      > Science does NOT refute God = 38%

      > Undecided = 12%

The merits of the proposition, of course, is not determinable by popular vote.
