      A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for MA, RI, NH and the adjoining coastal waters from 1 PM to 9 PM by the Norman, OK NWS Storm Prediction Center.

      Effective This Friday Afternoon And Evening From 100 PM Until 900 PM EDT.

      Hail To 1.5 Inches In Diameter... Thunderstorm Wind Gusts To 70 Mph... And Dangerous Lightning Are Possible In These Areas.

      The Severe Thunderstorm Watch Area Is Approximately Along And 105 Statute Miles East And West Of A Line From 10 Miles West Southwest Of Patuxent River Maryland To 45 Miles North Northwest Of Worcester Massachusetts. 
      Remember... A Severe Thunderstorm Watch Means Conditions Are Favorable For Severe Thunderstorms In And Close To The Watch Area. Persons In These Areas Should Be On The Lookout For Threatening Weather Conditions And Listen For Later 
      Statements And Possible Warnings. Severe Thunderstorms Can And Occasionally Do Produce Tornadoes. 
      
      Discussion... Shortwave Trough Now Approaching The 
      Region Will Increase Thunderstorms Across Much Of The Area From West To East. Moderate Instability And 30-40 Kt Effective Shear Will Be Supportive Of Organization Into Lines And Possibly Supercells. Appears Damaging Winds Will Be Primary Severe Threat As Activity Progresses Ewd Off The Coast Through The Early To Mid Evening. Heavy Rainfall Rates May Be An Additional Hazard With These Storms Given Abundant Moisture In Place.
