I would highly doubt that you could have the task series initiated as part of your uploading of contact records. However, using a classification such as "add to desired task series" (though seems being more specific would be better, like "add to Aug 12 Expired task series" only because you may in the future want to add another upload for expireds or any other reason and use that filter...don't want to double-add any series.
But once you've completed your upload, simple enough to filter by the classification you used, then do a global update of the contacts in that filter to assign your task series to all of them at once. It's one more step, I know, but a simple and quick one at that.
