  • I was washing them by hand one at a time and I was using a secondary bottle that I had put the soap in and added water to it, then just putting about a teaspoon on the scarf as I washed it. I rinsed it out first to get the excess dye out because this batch was dyed in the microwave with the Jacquard Green label dyes and Kosher salt to make crystal effects, but I have also used them...

  • mostly after, but I'm going to start using it instead of the Synthropol before because it's easier for me to get here at the Health Food Store. Sue

  • I don't remember if I put this on here or not, but I made an accidental discovery and have been washing my silk scarves by hand with Dr. Bonner's Sal Suds cleaner watered down and rinsing with a tiny bit of human hair conditioner and they come out really shiny now. The cleaner goes a long ways and can be used for several other uses around the house as well. Sue

I also watched the Martha Stewart video on her website and was appalled at how she plopped the paper on the gel, but I DID learn something from her. When she...

  • she is not dragging it across the plexiglass, just using it to immediately get the paper on it so she can take it over to be rinsed. I liked this idea because I have been lifting the paper up off the bath and sometimes it's "tender" from being wet, so the plexiglass looks like a much better idea for transporting it. and yes, I learned some time ago to not put the alum back in the...

  • all the information and the suppliers is right there in my note. Dharma Trading is www.dharmatrading.com etc. You just need to google each company and their mixing directions are right on their packages. For the "normal" ones like Dharma trading and prochem, I use gallon and a half plastic pretzel jars. I made a mark with a permanent marker on the one gallon mark which I found by...
