- we have the upside down ones here in Alaska. Here they are called
"sundogs". They are normally on the sides of the sun, but on rare
occasions, can be seen as an upside down one also.

They are formed by the ice crystals in the air.

Here, we see them on bright sunny days, which is different because they are
not after a rain, like a normal rainbow would be.
