"Miss Marble" invites aspiring artists of all ages, children, teens and
adults, to join her for a morning of marbling papers in the bookbinding
studio. Dripping acrylic paints onto a special liquid in a shallow tray,
then swirling to create intricate patterns and printing these patterns onto
paper make colorful patterned papers. Once you have mastered this technique,
you can continue making hand marbled paper at home with family and friends.

September 2005 -- Catherine Levine (TXLAC instructor)-- The purpose of this
activity is to advocate the historical value of decorated paper used to bind
books since the 15th century and how it relates to the calligraphic
lettering arts. Students learn how to use marbling techniques to marble
several types of designs and create a basic book structure. -- $65.00 --
