- Hello. I'm Yehuda Miklaf, living in Jerusalem. I learned marbling from
Don Guyot back in the 70s because one of my clients was sick of the same
papers that I used on his boxes. I really didn't want to tackle yet
another skill, but thought that I would check it out. I got hooked
immediately, and to make matters worse, the whole process worked
wonderfully for me. Regrettably it has never been so easy since.
When I moved to Israel in 1986, I had to give up trying to marble. I was
working in a tiny space, and the climate here, especially in summer,
doesn't seem to be too conducive to good results. I did do one workshop
and a couple of sessions, and then let it drop.
Lately I have acquired a new studio with lots of room, and a local
artist has begged me to show him how marbling is done, and I have
agreed, on condition that we make the mess at his studio. That's next
Sunday, if the teachers strike ends before then and I get free from
child care. Wish me luck!
