- Hello all,
Another way to keep from splatters is to use eye
droppers instead of whisks (pigment flickers). Baby
food jars of paint can be placed in a rubbermaid shoe
box. Edmund Scietific, 800-728-6999, has droppers at
a good price. Dropper bottles work well for
watercolor paint if you put a fishing weight or
something similar in the bottle to help mix the
pigment that settles in the bottom. I don't like them
for acrylics since the plastic is so hard to clean.
Of course if you are wanting to do small-medium stone
patterns you are back to the whisk or atomizer.
Painters fabric drop clothes are washable and aren't
slippery like plastic. If the space allows sew or pin
a sleeve at one end of the drop cloth and pass a
tension rod through it to anchor it in place. It
saves prep time.
