What is Samaj?

Samaj is the sanskrit word for society whose members move toward their
ideological goal together. Today, members of society are not moving together. Many are left behind. We have to help those that are left behind. Those that are moving, are moving towards the wrong goals misguided by dogmatic theories of religion and economics. The proper goal is universal neo-humanism. For us to move together, we have to have morality as the base of the movement. Moral leadership is a must and morality must be practiced by all members of the samaj. If not, the togetherness of the group or society will be jeopardized.

Samaj movement is also the practical application of the socio-economic theory of PROUT. It's time we put into practice what we preach. This means setting up self-reliant cooperatives in every barangay that internalizes the 6 demands we advocate i.e. using local resources and creating cooperative industries based on locally available resources of the local community areas we live in so as to provide 100% employment to the local people. All samaj workers should now move towards creating a model barangay master cooperative which will serve as the example and learning and training center also for other barangays in the samaj socio-economic zones they are part of. Samaj workers should undertake local development planning firts of their barangays to determine what are the needs of the local people that should first be addressed and then creating industries based on the "cooperative concept" which we propagate- self-reliant cooperatives. Please contact your local CDA (Cooperative Development Agency) to help you set up your primary cooperatives. The various samaj are not only people's organizations but also a confederation of self-reliant primary barangay-based cooperatives.
