Group Description

This group aims to cut through the stereotypes of what it means to practice magic. Although the heavy black eyeliner types have plenty of forums, those of us who view and use magic as just another normal part of our lives have very few places to gather and discuss our experiences and beliefs.
If you don't need to play dress up or play mix and match gods and goddesses without even considering the implications, this is the place for you. If you believe in personal responsibility, this is the place for you. If you realize that you- the practitioner- are the source of change instead of other people's rhymes and trappings, this is the place for you. If you do not consider magic to belong to a separate, religious part of your life, this is the place for you.
Here is the place for those of us who do not see magic as "supernatural." This is a place for people who use magic as a normal part of life, not tied to religion or superstition. This is a place for people who see magic as a practical part of real-life problem solving, not an excuse for fantasy play.
If you are embarrassed when you see a TV special with dress-up witches in heavy black eyeliner talking about rhymes and candles and all the trappings, this is the place for you. But most importantly, if you see magic as a highly personal interaction between the practitioner and the Universe, an interaction that does not depend upon artificial pomp and circumstance, then this is the place for you.
This list does not confine the definition of magic to Wicca, witchcraft, Paganism/Neo-Paganism or the "popular" definitions. Magic is also practiced by some Satanists, Ceremonial and Hermetic magicians, various ethnic groups and cultures (ie Traditional Chinese Folk Magic) to name a few. All civilized, considered discourse on the topic of magic is welcome and encouraged.
Although all paths and experience levels are welcome, please be 18 or older to join.
Welcome home.
