See announcement and photos below for an excellent training on white privilege, and how potential white allies make assumptions that their methods and strategies are superior to those of people of color, whom they think need their help (white supremacist attitudes among "progressives/liberals" is more common than you might think).  If you're white and you think you don't need this training and that you won't learn anything from this, think again!  These trainings and the annual "Unlearning Racism" seminar at the YWCA are part of a life-long learning process that we all need if we and our organizations are ever to become truly multicultural and welcoming to oppressed groups.

Subject: FW: Meet and Greet with the White Privilege Conference Founder Eddie Moore Jr.

      Hello, Marlene, Caroline, and Julie,

I just received the greatest news: The 2014 White Privilege Conference will be right in Madison in early April, 2014! (The 2013 WPC will be in far-off Seattle.) This conference is the best anti-racism training I've attended because it includes so much:
The White Privilege Conference provides a yearly forum for critical discussions about diversity, multicultural education and leadership, social justice, race/racism, sexual orientation, gender relations, religion and other systems of privilege and oppression. Conference participants and presenters include members of the corporate and non-profit sectors, members of faith communities, students, educators, activists, and artists. The WPC offers more than 20 full-day institutes, film series, more than 120 concurrent sessions, academic credit & CEU’s. Many civic groups, businesses, political bodies, and educational institutions are necessary to host the 2014 Fifteenth Annual White Privilege Conference (WPC15).

They have a separate track for youth that is absolutely amazing.
      Elizabeth
