FYI, see below from the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, which advocates for all immigrant workers, not just day laborers.  Check their website for a lot more information on S-Comm.

      Friends,

We have recently gotten word that ICE plans to announce their "reforms" on S-Comm by the end of the month or sooner. During John Morton's testimony before the recent DHS appropriations subcommittee he said their response to the controversial S-Comm task force was imminent. We have a small but critical window to continue to pressure them and try to influence the outcome of the announcement.

Additionally, we know that the Office of Inspector General (OIG) report is coming out in the coming weeks. We know from our experience with 287g that DHS will try to announce "reforms" ahead of the OIG report to dismiss some of the problems and claim they've addressed them with their new "reforms."

Please join us on a national call to put forth a collective plan of action and continue to build strength.
