defending treaty rights and water
Things are heating up with the mining bill AB426 which stands to significantly weaken the environmental protections that are right now saving the Penokee Hills at the headwaters of the Bad River. The Grassroots Leadership College has been helping the folks up in the Northwoods by providing some training and facilitation help. We need everyone's help to protect Northern Wisconsin. Please sign on to endorse next Wednesday's rally and come join us on the steps of the capitol and spread the word to others. Here's wording for your endorsement.
"(group name) endorses the BURY THE BILL protest against AB426 taking place at 5 PM on Wednesday, January 25, on the State Street side of the Capitol, and the People's Tribunal on the Penokee Mine taking place during the day on Thursday, January 26, in the Capitol second floor north hearing room" (exact times TBA; this will be a speak-out style event with an MC and open mike; anyone can sign up to speak their piece about the mine in order of first-come, first-served)
Endorsements can be sent to Carl Sack at northlandiguana@...
See you Wednesday! There will be a potluck following the rally. Details TBA.
